I’m not going into details about this whole night but this might just be the worst motel/hotel I’ve had the extreme displeasure of spending a night. I sincerely hope this is the worst motel I’ll stay in this entire trip.
I posted on a separate blog regarding this night of horror (Click on map/link above). Just to keep things brief within the hotel/motel/camping blogs, I’ll keep the description short.
If there’s any question to my description to this house of horrors in Mobile, just copy and paste the link below and enjoy others’ descriptions of this shit hole.
To summarize. I needed a motel. I didn’t read the reviews. Showed up at America’s Best Value Inn in Mobile, Alabama.
Was greeted by all of the local hustlers, hookers and crackheads (I mean this literally - not being facetious). One of them invited himself into my room and tried to steal my room key by putting it in his pocket. Warned me about people about to hustle me and steal off my motorcycle.
Room had weird blood stains by the bathroom door, strange tape on the door that connected my room to the next, broken window curtains that resulted in the crackheads looking into my room all night, missing smoke detector, exposed/broken outlets, missing toilet lid, non-flushing toilet except with plunger that was provided to me by staff, roaches (I only saw one but you know what they say, if you see one…), unwashed towels.
Now, you ask, why didn’t you just leave? Well, easy. Once I arrived and removed all the bags off my bike it was getting dark. I promised myself that going to do my best to not hunt for motels at night. And, my bags are cumbersome, heavy and bulky. They are strapped on and so it is a big procedure to remove and install my bags. It’s not like having a car where I could have just threw my bags in the trunk and found another place. On a bike, it’s a process. I knew I was leaving in the morning so I figured one bad night and I’ll GTFO. I didn’t feel like I was in imminent danger, just didn’t like the POS’s that were living in the motel.
