Sat 2/8-Wed 2/12 - Camping on the beach in Sayulita!

From Mazatlan Juan and Mark led me south to a perfect camp spot on/near the beach in Sayulita.

Juan and Mark led me into Sayulita and once we got to town, Mark opened up the front gate to “Palamar del Camaron” and we all rode in down the dirt road through camp passing palapas for rent, a van lived in, the main house of the owners with rented rooms to the right and finally to the end of the campground to the beach where we parked.

Our camp from the beach looking in to camp. Initially we were parked further back from the beach but after a couple of days I moved my camp as close to the beach as I could.

Setting up camp. Juan in the foreground with yellow tent, my camp towards the center rear and Mark is just out of frame to the right.

Camping spot. Laundry day and what a camp looks like after a few days in. Motocamping.

We had a beach bar attached to our camp by way of a little beach sand path. How convenient. This is us enjoying our first night here with beers and cigars. How perfect is this location? Just sitting back watching the sun set over the Pacific from the bar attached to our camp, where we rode in on motorcycles! Can life be any better?

The campground bathrooms. Basic but worked great. Mens’ side on the right. There is a sink and mirror outside the bathrooms (visible here) then inside there are 4 basic showers, two open urinals, and about 3 basic stalls.

The view of the main house on the campground. The owner, the old lady as she was referred to, would take your 200 pesos cash but you couldn’t find her everyday. You would try to spot her cooking dinner outside at a community table on her porch where her, her husband and some of her long time guests would eat. Apparently the upstairs had rooms for rent.

The bar attached to out campground. What a colorful place. Music would play until about midnight on some nights and I got used to the playlist.
